Mark Hatfield, MA, LPCC, CCMHC

I am a nationally Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC; NCC) with over a decade of experience and am licensed in Kentucky, TennesseeIllinois, Michigan, and Washington. I have helped people with a variety of issues, that include grief/loss, anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, dual disorders, and trauma based illnesses. I also have experience working with existential life issues and career/work problems.

My counseling style often involves the use of imagination, creative introspection, analysis, mindfulness, and cognitive approaches to help address self-defeating thoughts and unproductive behavioral patterns. I often use the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy model, as it is quite flexible for a variety of problems we encounter in life. I also consider myself to be humanistic in orientation, have training in Depth/Jungian psychotherapy, and am a drama therapist in training. Therapeutic work with myself might also include the use of wellness approaches and dream exploration to help a person move toward becoming who they want to be and live the life they envision. I hold the perspective that counseling should be informed by the latest research and that all approaches must be tailored for the individual. My hope is to assist a person with discovering their own inner resources and strengths so that they can find fulfillment in their relationships, work, community, and world.
